A twin-screw requires a fair bit of power to spin, which means more parasitic drag on the engine versus a centrifugal design, but less than a roots. Twin-screw designs are more efficient than a roots, and almost all run at lower temperatures, but they still benefit from the use of an intercooler due to its position on top of the motor.

A supercharger doesn’t work off the exhaust gas, it is attached to your engine and spins with the crankshaft. When the crankshaft spins the supercharger, it forces air into the motor. The turbo is more efficient as it doesn’t require engine power to spin it, so it makes more power per boost. A supercharger also does not create full boost

There are two types of Twin Turbo BMW engines, the TwinPower Turbo and the TwinTurbo Power. In both options, you'll find an exhaust manifold that's split into two headers. The TwinPower Turbo is one single turbo that comes with two exhaust down tubes. The TwinTurbo Power contains two turbos with two exhaust down tubes. Twin turbos don't guarantee a fast car. I've seen more than one twin turbo car car with a late model drivetrain run in the 12's. I've also seen several single turbo LS's run 13's or slower. They are not a magic solution that will make a car fast without the rest of the combination being sorted out. Steve R

Its still significantly cheaper to supercharge a 5.7 you already own than to buy a new tundra at these inflated prices, and more reliable too. It’s hard to throw stones at someone who owns their 5.7 and supercharger outright as compared to taking a loan out on a new truck. Silver17, Nov 3, 2022. #24.

The Acert engine does NOT have twin turbos. Twin turbos implies that both turbos are the same, which is not the case on the Acert. The C15 Acert utilizes a compound turbo setup, which features a high pressure turbo and low pressure turbo. The high pressure turbo is smaller in size and it the first one to get exhaust gas from the manifold.
